HP OpenView System Manager Demo
Instructions

The HP OpenView System Manager Demo is a self-running PC
demo designed to give you an overview of the product's
features and benefits. Using text descriptions and screen
captures from the actual product, the System Manager demo
steps you through the process of monitoring and controlling
networked HP 3000s from a central console.
IMPORTANT: This demo requires a VGA monitor and will not
run under Windows. It is recommended that you
run this demo on a 386 PC for performance
purposes, however a 286 PC may also be used.
The demo may run slightly slower on a 286 PC.
Installing and Unpacking the Demo Files

The demo is in a compressed format. To install and unpack
the files on your PC, do the following:
1) Download the file "demo.exe" to your PC
under the same name. The file size is
709,975 bytes, so downloading may take a
few minutes.
2) Go to the directory on your PC where the
demo.exe file has been downloaded.
3) Type: demo
The files will then be expanded.
Running the Demo on Your PC

To run the demo from your hard disk:
1) From the drive and directory where the demo files reside,
type: smdemo.
To run the demo directly from a floppy:
1) Copy demo files to a floppy.
2) Type the name of the floppy drive you will run the demo
from (ex. a:).
3) Type: smdemo.
Note: The demo may run slightly slower from a floppy than
from the hard disk.
The introductory demo screen will appear with instructions
on how to manipulate the demo. Press any key and the System
Manager demo will begin.
To pause the demo, press the SCROLL LOCK key.
To exit the demo, press the ESC key.
